The Women of the ELCA (WELCA) includes Lutheran women who gather for service, study, advocacy, and fellowship. WELCA embraces all kinds of ministries that support our mission of mobilizing women to act boldly on their faith in Jesus Christ. There are approximately 75 active WELCA church units within the South-Central Synod of Wisconsin. These church women’s groups are overseen by a Synodical Women’s Organization, an elected board of 10-12 women.
Dear Sisters in Christ,
Welcome to the web page of the South Central Wisconsin Synodical Women’s Organization. Here you can find links to resources and news about the Women of the ELCA (WELCA) both in our local church units as well as from Churchwide.
As we look outside at the blanket of snow, church quilting groups are busy working on their Lutheran Relief Projects. At the conference level, several Spring Gatherings are being planned.
I invite you to consider attending the national Triennial Gathering in Phoenix next summer from July 16-19. This is an inspirational thought-provoking event. Costs involve transportation, hotel, registration, and food. We are region 5K. Please let me know if you plan to attend or need help with the registration. So far, we have around 20 women attending from our synod. Hope to see a few more!
