2026 Boundaries Education
Registration is officially open for the Region 5 Collaborative Boundaries Education Day.
The synods of Region 5 (the synods in Illinois, Iowa, Wisconsin, and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan) are collaborating to present annual boundaries education for active rostered ministers and SAMs. The purpose of this collaboration is, in part, to show a shared commitment to boundaries education across the region, to create and sustain professional ministry leadership in our synods, for safety in our communities of faith, and to pool our resources to offer high quality educational events.
The collaborative boundaries education follows a three-year cycle covering Professional Boundaries, Gender Justice, and Racial Justice. This year’s focus is Racial Justice.
Participants are expected to be present for the entire event and to engage with the material presented as fully as they are able.

Hospitality & Preparation
- Meals & Refreshments: To keep you energized throughout the day, morning and afternoon coffee and snacks, as well as lunch, will be provided.
- What to Bring: Please bring a pen and your preferred note-taking materials. Our presenter also recommends participants bring a digital device (such as a smartphone, tablet, or laptop) to access a digital companion resource used throughout the training.
Our Instructor
We are thrilled to welcome Rhonda Hill as our facilitator. Rhonda Hill is the Founder and Executive Director of Race & Faith, where she equips leaders and communities to engage race, identity, and justice through theological reflection, racial identity development, and embodied spiritual practice. She is the creator of the Race & Faith Quadrants which guides learners toward courageous, embodied, anti-racist discipleship rooted in the Imago Dei. Rhonda teaches nationally on anti-racism, restorative leadership, and faith-based community transformation.
Her presentation, “The Stories We Tell,” will serve as the guiding framework for our time together. The day will include a live opening session with Rhonda Hill, followed by pre-recorded video sessions for the remainder of the workshop.

How to Register
Please secure your spot by clicking the link below so we will have an accurate headcount for meals and materials.
Participants may attend the training at a site outside of their home synod, if desired due to proximity or other reasons. Please register with your HOME SYNOD, and select “other” for your site, who will then contact the synod where you will be attending.
Registration Deadline: Registration will close on October 21.
