This list is updated periodically (once weekly as needed) as new listings and updates are received by the synod office. Synod staff openings are listed first, followed by congregation and ministry setting listings.

  • Administrative Assistant – South-Central Synod of Wisconsin-ELCA (Hybrid/Madison)
    The South-Central Synod of Wisconsin is seeking a gifted and motivated professional for the position of Administrative Assistant. The Administrative Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting the leadership of our organization. This full-time, hybrid position is responsible for managing the schedules of key organizational leaders, planning and overseeing major events, and ensuring smooth day-to-day office operations. Reporting directly to the Bishop (Executive Director), this individual will be a central figure in maintaining organizational efficiency and supporting the organization’s mission.   • Contemporary Music Director (Part-Time) – First Lutheran Church (Beaver Dam)
    This position will lead congregation and volunteer singers during the contemporary service on Sundays. This could entail vocal or instrumental guidance. The Contemporary Music Director will need to be able to troubleshoot music programs in order to make sure lyrics and music run smoothly during service. This position is also involved in the planning and coordinating of the services music. They will need to collaborate with pastor and band on music choices. This position is important in providing an inclusive and meaningful worship experience.

  • Custodian (Part-Time) – First Lutheran Church (Beaver Dam)
    The part time custodian’s main responsibilities are setup and take down for special events, floor maintenance, and general cleaning. This position supports our Maintenance Supervisor when they are out or need additional assistance. It is preferred that the candidate has prior custodial experience to be able to take direction and work independently. The part time custodian does have moderate physical expectations in order to perform the needed tasks. They are expected to continually be on their feet and lift/move heavier objects.   • Youth Director – First Lutheran Church (Beaver Dam)
    This position needs to support, advocate for, and strengthen the youth ministry. The Youth Director will primarily be responsible for supporting and developing participation in middle school and high school youth: education, fellowship, service, and building relationships. This will be accomplished through a multitude of programs: First Communion, Confirmation, summer mission trips, ELCA Youth Gathering, and other local community events. The Youth Director will be working in collaboration with the Pastor and our dedicated team of volunteers. It is heavily encouraged to become a part of congregational life and local community culture. This creates opportunities to establish relationships and a deep foundation with our youth. The Youth Director needs to be an established leader, preferably with prior youth ministry experience, and a degree in a related field.   • Church Operations Coordinator – Vermont Lutheran (Black Earth)
    The
    Operations Coordinator will support our various ministries occurring throughout the month. This position is 20-30 hours per week. The person hired for the job can help set the hours and we can be flexible. This person would produce key forms of communication (weekly bulletin and announcements, monthly newsletter, etc.) as well as maintain the website (WordPress experience a plus). Other functions would include assisting the pastor and team leaders with projects and helping to organize holidays and festivals put on by the church. Social media skills a plus!   • Children & Youth Ministry Coordinator – New Life Church (Madison)
    The Children and Youth Ministry Coordinator is a key member of the New Life Church team. This is a three quarter-time position with a salary range of $33,000-38,000 depending on experience and qualifications. This job will require regular office hours at the church, including Sunday mornings and the occasional evening, as well as week-long summer experiences. Specific office hours are to be determined with the Pastor and working remotely is a possibility. This position is responsible for coordinating education activities for children and youth within the church, as well as children, youth and family events and growth/service opportunities.     Messiah Lutheran Church is seeking a part-time Coordinator of Media & Technology to maintain and support our streaming and technology needs. Responsibilities include overseeing the maintenance of technology, audio and visual systems, and oversight of our social media presence. This part-time position will be 10 hours/week, at $30/hour. This person will supervise streaming volunteers, edit and post service and sermons each week, and ensure proper maintenance and use of sound equipment throughout the church building. They will also be the point of contact for troubleshooting technology issues and supporting website and network connectivity.   • Custodian – St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church (Monona)
    St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church in Monona is seeking a part-time custodian to maintain a large, actively used church building that includes regular cleaning, light maintenance, troubleshooting, and a team player. The ideal candidate is organized, proficient in cleaning tasks and minor maintenance needs along with good communication skills.  Also, good physical health is important including the ability to lift 50 pounds, climb ladders, and the majority of time standing and walking. This is a part-time position: 22-25 hours per week, at $18-20/hour, dependent upon qualifications and experience, with additional honorariums for special events.  There are some scheduled hours required during the week as well as some flexibility.  Due to the nature of community life, there are some occasions when weekend hours are needed.
