Refugee Resettlement Ministry Team

To date over 500 people have been welcomed to Dane County.

You Can Help
Join other individuals and congregations by donating household goods and furniture to furnish an apartment for a newly arriving family. Giving your time and talents through cultural coaching/mentoring, language tutoring or serving on the coordination team also helps welcome the newcomers.

You can help offer hospitality in meaningful ways. Specifically, help is needed with:

  • Welcome Boxes
  • New arrivals at the Dane County Regional Airport
  • Becoming a literacy tutor or cultural mentor
  • Inviting refugees to a social event in your community

Mission Moment: Anti-Human Trafficking Work

At the 2014 and 2017 Women of the ELCA Triennial Conventions, women voted to continue to bring awareness of and to prevent human trafficking. Women of the ELCA has focused on ending human trafficking for over a decade. This year there were bills introduced in both legislatures on 3 topics related to human trafficking. Along with the Lutheran Office for Public Policy in Wisconsin and 2 other Wisconsin women’s synod organizations, our women’s synod board participated in the legislative process and had an impact.
