LMM is sponsoring this retreat that is intended for pastors, church and para-church professionals in Iowa next month. It is scheduled during the week to hopefully avoid the weekend commitments of these folk.
The retreat will be held at the beautiful Camp EWALU in Strawberry Point, IA. Pastors in our synod have used the retreat as a way to energize their men’s involvement in their churches.
Two of our synod’s pastors have found the retreat instrumental in energizing their men’s involvement in their churches. They are Pastor Matt Poock, St. John’s, Evansville and Pastor Rob Nelson, New Heights,
The registration flyer can be downloaded from the LMM website at:https://www.lutheranmeninmission.org/events/one-year-to-live/ . Early registration discounts end on January 21, 2019.
The retreat begins on the evening of Wednesday, February 6 and concludes at about 3 p.m. on Friday,February 8. Attendees should commit to staying for the entire event.
Pastor Matthew Poock (St. John’s – Evansville) shares,
“One Year To Live has ignited our men’s ministry. Men are so often disconnected from the support they need. Since One Year To Live, our men are developing true friendships in Christ that will see them through the
challenges they face every day. I’ve witnessed personal transformation in men as a result of the retreat and follow-up. Men do not regret going; how could they? We encounter God there together.”
