IGNITE CREATIVITY – Preaching In Series Workshop – June 19-20, 2018

June 19, 2018 - June 20, 2018

Create sermon series that will have your congregation faithfully fed, grateful and alive.  Walk away with new ideas, a network of forward thinking preachers, ready-to-go- adaptable sermon series, and a plan for your year.

Lillian Daniel is a preacher, teacher and writer in Iowa. While she has taught preaching at a number of schools, including Chicago Theological Seminary and Yale Divinity School, she can’t be held responsible for everyone who falls asleep in church. Her new book, Tired of Apologizing for a Church I Don’t Belong To is generating international conversation about the changing religious landscape. It continues the theme of her 2013 book When ‘Spiritual But Not Religious’ Is Not Enough about the growing number of people who claim “none” as their religious preference.

Rev. Karoline Lewis is the Marbury E. Anderson Chair in Biblical Preaching at Luther Seminary in St. Paul, Minnesota. A conference, workshop and retreat presenter internationally, she is a regular contributor to the Festival of Homiletics, Working Preacher, Dear Working Preacher and the podcast Sermon Brainwave. Lewis is the author or SHE: Five Keys to Unlock the Power of Women in Ministry and John: Fortress Biblical Preaching Commentaries, among numerous other articles.

Preacher – Rev. Mark Hanson is the Distinguished Fellow in the Christensen Center for Vocation at Augsburg College in Minneapolis. He was presiding bishop of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America from 2001-2014, president of the Lutheran World Federation from 2003-2010, and author of Faithful Yet Changing: The Church in Challenging Times and Faithful and Courageous: Christians in Unsettling Times.
