Meet the Synod Vicars!

For the past 24 hours the interns, “Vicars” from our synod have gathered with the other interns and supervisors in the ELCA from Illinois, Missouri, and Wisconsin. Our synod has five Wartburg seminary students serving as Vicars (pastoral interns) this year. We are grateful to the pastors who accompany them where they serve.

Mission Moment: ELCA Hunger Fellows

ELCA Hunger Advocacy fellowship -a program made possible by ELCA World Hunger, this fellowship is a year-long transformative experience that combines leadership development, faith formation, and impactful advocacy that moves us toward an end to hunger and a just world where all are fed. This program is in its second year and has already received and developed thoughtful leaders with passion and fresh ideas.

ELCA Launches New Podcast “Three Sides!” 

Three Sides is a new podcast presented by the ELCA that shares that third side of seeing God at work in the world and offers a fresh way to tell the unique, compelling and sometimes surprising stories of this church.   Three sides presents diverse voices from across all expressions of the ELCA.

“Leading Well” Spirit in the Desert Retreat November 13-16, 2018

Vibrant Faith ministries and Spirit in the Desert are offering Leading Well--a four day training experience for pastors, deacons and church leaders that offers practical learning, Sabbath rest and collegial support. Skills will focus on staff and volunteer management, strategic/staffing challenges in your congregation, a new grounding in your sense of call, worship, retreat and support from colleagues.

Effective Preaching for Today

October 16, 2018 at Christ Lutheran Church in Belvidere, IL. Join the Rev. Dr. Rolf Jacobson of ‘Working Preacher’ fame, and professor at Luther seminary as he discusses the challenges that preachers face in this politically-charged, rapidly changing day and age, and what makes for effective preaching today.


Office Manager (Sun Prairie)

The position is part-time and includes church Administration, Communication Coordination, and Church Office Management under the direction of the Pastor and the Bristol Lutheran Council. 

Administrative Assistant (Fort Atkinson)

Seeking an experienced Administrative Assistant from outside the congregation to support its ministerial staff and manage Church Office operations.  

Organist (DeForest)

The position is 10-12 hours/week. Major responsibilities include planning for Sunday worship and weekly adult choir rehearsal.
