But those who wait for the Lord
Shall renew their strength,
They shall mount up with wings like eagles,
they shall run and not be weary,
they shall walk and not faint.
Blessings & Peace to You This Christmas,

“Burr Oaks Holding On”
This original photograph was taken by the Rev. Mary Kay Baum, a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Dodgeville. Mary Kay is a retired pastor in our synod and now uses her gifts to tell God’s story through her keen eye and photographic lens. We are delighted to share “Burr Oaks Holding On” through this year’s Christmas card greeting. Like many of our retired leaders, May Kay Baum continues to be actively engaged in the life of the church. She serves on the synod’s Speaker’s Bureau to equip our congregations on the topic of loving and caring for those who live with cognitive challenges. Having experienced early-onset cognitive challenges herself, Mary Kay brings a depth of knowledge and wisdom as she teaches us how to walk with Jesus with everyone we meet. As the 2019 recipient of the Steward of the Year for her caring of the Ridgeway Pine Relict State Natural Area in Iowa County, near where this photo was taken, she is a role model for stewarding God’s creation.
