Prayer Activity That Will Become Visual Element of Installation Service
Children and Adults are invited to pray for the bishop-elect as she begins her transition to her call as bishop of the South-Central Synod of Wisconsin, ELCA. A way to show our unity in blessing our new bishop is to participate in this activity offered by the planning team. We invite your Sunday school children, confirmands, high schoolers and adults …anyone interested …to color a downloadable coloring sheet (see below). Please pray for the bishop and the synod as you color these leaves. Think of us as the veins of the leaf as we offer life to each other and to the body of Christ. The various textures and patterns represent the varied gifts that God has given us as we are sent into the world as disciples of Christ. Then send or drop off your coloring sheets to the synod office by October 2. These creative representations and prayers offered up will become a visual element of the worship celebration (There are three styles to choose from for various ages and skills).
Send your colored sheets flat by October 2 to:
South-Central Synod of Wisconsin, ELCA
6401 Odana Road, Suite 20
Madison, WI 53719
Send us a photo of your ordination! During this year, we celebrate 50 years of our church body ordaining women, and we also celebrate the installation of our new bishop, Rev. Joy Mortensen-Wiebe. The Bishop Installation Team is putting together a video comprised of pictures from the ordinations of our synod’s rostered women to be shared during Bishop Joy’s installation service on Sunday, October 11. We would love to include a picture of your ordination, particularly the laying on of hands. If you’re able, please send a digital picture to Robyn Zimmerman (firstname.lastname@example.org) before October 2.
