Our Hands.” Some have participated on September 8, which is the day set aside by the ELCA if you wanted to participate when most other congregations were joining in. God’s work. Full-Time Chaplain (Stoughton)

Skaalen Retirement Services is a Lutheran retirement community that has been providing care and support of seniors in need since 1900. Skaalen Retirement Services is seeking a full-time Chaplain to provide spiritual care to by promoting a spiritual environment within the campus by leading worship services, providing prayer services, conducting Bible study, leading religious discussions, providing religious education and hymn sings with residents and patients in all levels of care. The successful candidate will need to be ordained in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, Ecclesiastical Specialized Care Endorsement status from the ELCA, and is Board Certified Chaplain status from the Association of Professional Chaplains.

Equipping the Saints: 2019 Military Caregiver Resource Directory

Several of our rostered with hearts for the care of Veterans and active duty service members in their communities have participated in Community Clergy Training Programs for caring for our veterans. They continue to gather to learn more about their special needs and ways to serve and support them. We all have service members that we know, so it helpful to stay abreast of the resources that are available to them so that we can be better caregivers and friends. A new resource has been released to do just that and we offer it here for your consideration; the Department of Defense Military Caregiver Support 2019 Caregiver Resource Directory (CRD).

Special Synod Assembly

The South-Central Synod of Wisconsin-ELCA will hold a Special Meeting of the Synod Assembly on November 2, 2019 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Sun Prairie, WI. The primary purpose of this meeting is to receive and adopt the 2020 Synod Spending Plan. We will worship together, enjoy programming, lunch and then hold discussion and vote on a spending plan.

Clergy Leadership Group

The Samaritan Center of Southern Wisconsin, announces a Pastor Leadership Seminar for all area clergy. The Seminar’s goal is to improve leadership skills for today’s ministry. Clergy present case studies of challenging situations in their churches, which require their leadership. Participants then receive peer feedback for fresh perspectives. Some readings, specifically focused on pastoral leadership will be discussed.

“One Coin Found” Book Reading & Signing with Rev. Emmy Kegler

All are invited to a public reading and Q&A with Rev. Emmy Kegler. Emmy is the pastor of Grace Lutheran Church in Northeast Minneapolis, the founder and editor of Queer Grace, an encyclopedia of online resources around LGBTQ life and faith (queergrace.com), and the author of the new book, One Coin Found: How God’s Love Stretches to the Margins.

Full-time Office Manager/Camp Registrar (Madison)

This 50-year old ELCA camp is seeking a full-time Office Manager/Registrar to coordinate the main office at Bethel Lutheran Church in Madison, WI.  This position will also coordinate summer camp registration and coordinate and manage retreat bookings. Join a staff of 8-10 full time staff that provide support and programming for Bethel Horizons. Compensation will be commensurate with education and experience.

Worship & Music Director/Lead & Substitute Accompanists (Fitchburg)

This is a part time position. Responsibilities include: regularly accompanying All Saints in Worship at both the classic blended service & the New Song Praise Worship; directing the choir with weekly rehearsals & twice monthly performance; leading New song Band twice monthly; and  assisting the pastor & Worship and Music team with planning worship liturgies and music. We are also in need of individuals interested in accompanying occasionally for worship, funerals, and special services.
